It passed the California Senate. It passed the California House.  But when the budget bill to cut the entire $21 million OHV Grants program landed on his desk, Governor Brown heard you and agreed it had gone too far.

Despite cutting an additional $195 million in spending from the budget, the Governor managed to restore $14 million to the OHV Grants Program through a line-item veto.

Although not the total victory we OHV enthusiasts were hoping for, it is still a significant win given the difficult political and economic climate in Sacramento.

More importantly it is a victory which would not have been achieved without the OHV community coming together to call the Governor’s Office, send letters, and sign our petition.

Thank you to everyone for your support in getting the word out as we fought to protect our OHV Grant Program. In the coming year Friends of Jawbone will continue to work on your behalf to keep your public lands accessible and open.
